Deputy Principal's (Administration) Message
Aristotle, an ancient Greek philosopher and scientist wrote: “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” As an institution of learning we pride ourselves in equipping our learners with lifelong skills. Our firm belief is that instead of dispensing knowledge and focusing solely on increasing the acquisition of facts related to specific subject areas, the development of individual personality, self-confidence and character is just as significant as symbols on certificates or academic credentials.
Our staff of educators which comprises individuals different in race, gender, ethnic or social origin, colour, age, religion, conscience, belief and language, remains an integrated and determined staff that continues to provide its very best, an educational philosophy that informs this school and that which we believe in and articulate. We remain committed in meeting the challenges of instructing our youth with diligence, attentiveness and tolerance. We have faith that all those who leave Khanyisa High School, will leave with a sense of great individual purpose and a strong sense of higher purpose of making a positive difference, in the world at large. One Dorothy Height, a civil rights and women’s rights activist, aptly expressed an educational philosophy which inspires our institution: “You never teach a subject, you always teach a child. You teach children in a way that they will learn, and then things will fall in place for them.’’
