Dux Scholars of Khanyisa High School
In 2004 we introduced a new award to the list of awards the already existing ones. This one is for a learner who is practically No 1 of all the learners. The criteria we use are :
- The learner must receive a minimum of four (4) level 7’s (80% and above)
- The learner’s aggregate must be 80% and above.
- The learner must be in grade 12.
Over the past years we have had such calibre of learners. They are:
1 | Dumezweni BayandaAchieved ALL six level 7’s and was one of the Top Learners in the Province, received the Premier’s scholarship. Enrolled for BSc Actuarial Science at UCT and completed it. He is now working for Deloitte in Johannesburg as a Senior Actuarial Analyst. | 2004 |
2 | Tuswa UviweAchieved five level 7’s of which two of them were level 8’s which means 95% and above. Was the Top Achiever Provincially, received the Eastern Cape province Premier’s scholarship to study the University of his choice. He then enrolled for MBChB at UCT and completed in 2014 | 2008 |
3 | Kamande IanAchieved five level 7’s . He enrolled for B.Com Accounting at UCT. | 2010 |
4 | Luzipho SimanyeAchieved five level 7’s and enrolled for Bcomm Accounting at NMMU. He was awarded the NMMU Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship which is awarded to the top 30 in the institution. This is a prestigious award and is awarded to only the “best of the best”. | 2012 |
5 | Cambalele YamkelaAchieved six level 7’s, one of the Top Learners in the Province and was awarded Solomon Mahlangu Scholarship by NYDA (National Youth Development Agency). Currently doing MBChB at UCT. | 2013 |
6 | Pandle AbongileAchieved five level 7’s, and enrolled for BSc Eng in Aeronautical at WITS. Awarded REAP bursary and a University Entrance Scholarship as he was one of the highest score achievers. | 2014 |
7 | Makupula ThandokaziAchieved six level 7’s and enrolled for Bachelors in Business Sciences (Actuarial Sciences) at UCT. Awarded MTN bursary for her achievements. | 2015 |
8 | Zembe LiyabonaAchieved all seven level 7’s, enrolled for BcomAcc at UCT. Awarded Deloitte bursary for her achievements. | 2016 |
9 | Holomisa SiyoliseAchieved four level 7’s, enrolled for MBChB (Medicine) at Wits University | 2018 |
10 | Moloko KeitumetseAchieved threelevel 7’s, enrolled with UCT for Bcomm (Accounting) and is funded by Thuthuka (SAICA). | 2019 |
11 | Dumisa SesethuAchieved five level 7’s and entrolled for MBChB at WSU | 2020 |
